Just a few short months ago, they were showing us an updated version of their original dropper post, and now they’ve already replaced it. The new FSA Flowtron is named after a trail at Tokul Mountain outside Seattle, near their headquarters, where they say you’re using your dropper seatpost constantly.
It’ll come in 125mm and 150mm travel options, and claimed weight is 595g for the 125mm/30.9. It’s also available in 31.6 diameters. Other specs include a 0º setback, 285mm and 310mm insertion depths, and 421mm and 446mm lengths.
One of the biggest upgrades from their first-gen post is this new one-piece head and shaft. This design means it can drop lower than their original design, slamming all the way down…particularly useful for shorter riders on smaller frames that don’t always have as much seat tube depth. Inside are three pins keyed to prevent rotation, up from two pins on prior model.
Lastly, it has very easy cable routing, with the cable’s head simply popping into place on the bottom of the post.
A unique feature is the three holes for the return spring, providing adjustable spring tension so you can customize the lever feel.
The cable clamps at the lever, which is sized to mimic a shifter lever since that’s where it goes. Retail is just $269.99.
