IMBA’s annual Dig In Campaign launched this month and promises to raise awareness and funds in support of 68 trail building projects spanning 31 states. In total the program includes more than 500 miles of improved or new trails across the country from California to Maryland.
By working with local chapters, IMBA is able to leverage a complex network of professional and volunteer resources to maintain access to existing trails while expanding the inventory of opportunities for riders and non-riders alike. On the agenda this year are works aimed at helping the rapidly growing NICA interscholastic racing scene with four trail systems dedicated to youth racing. Other approved projects include new community bike parks, pump tracks, and a variety of grass-roots efforts.
To achieve their goals, the Dig In Campaign is drumming up memberships and donations through the remainder of the calendar year. Riders across the nation are invited to either adopt a project and give their pledged funds to that specific endeavor, or contribute to the entire campaign with the funds allocated evenly across the 68 projects.
If you’re inclined to fold your give in with a little spend, REI is matching donations for select projects and brands like Showers Pass, Zoic, and others are offering a portion of their proceeds to the campaign.
