For 10 years, Czech-owned VirtualTraining has provided an interactive & analytical indoor training platform for cyclists, from amateur to pro. VirtualTraining linked their platform to one major equipment maker in the past. But, now they have opened up the popular gamified training ecosystem under a new name Rouvy. So Kinetic is encouraging you to give it a try, offering a 30-day trail to anyone who’s registered one of their trainers. Plus there’s the opportunity to get in on a Rock and Roll Challenge to win a new premium smart trainer.

Rouvy, indoor training powered by VirtualTraining

VirtualTraining had a well-established partnership with CycleOps/Powertap in the past, but now have branched out supporting indoor trainers like those from Tacx, Wahoo Fitness, Elite, Kinetic & more.

Under the new name Rouvy, the app-based training platform has simplified its user experience. The goal was making it easier to connect a wide range of indoor training hardware. And to be ready to ride in a few quick clicks, whether powered by a desktop setup, tablet, or smartphone.

Then you have access to their thousands of virtual routes synced to high quality training video. Unlike competing head to head in a virtual world like Zwift, here you stay motivated  riding along real roads. Rouvy also now includes a multi-rider mode for group rides, online races, and more virtual training interaction.

Gamification is also a big deal with Rouvy. And their Rouvy League & Rouvy Career allow riders to compete with each other and get rewarded with real prizes year round, even pairing real powermeter data you collect from riding out in the real world. With Rouvy Career as you continue to train and reach certain levels, you automatically get entered into regular monthly lotteries to win useful gear like tires, heart rate monitors & smart trainers.

Advanced training metrics analysis

Beyond making Rouvy more friendly to new cyclists, they’re also offering a new public beta for experienced riders with Advanced Pedal Analytics via PowerTap P1 pedals. As more riders train with power, Rouvy aims to help better take advantage of their potential and are working on expanding compatibility to a range of powermeters collecting advanced pedal data.

Kinetic’s Rock and Roll Challenge

Beside offering a free 30-day trial promotion on the new Rouvy (register your trainer to get a free voucher code), Kinetic’s partnership also comes with a competitive challenge.

To qualify you need to ride 30km in one training session on Rouvy between now and Dec 24. That automatically enters cyclists into a draw for a $750 Kinetic Rock and Roll, Smart Control trainer.
