Thanks to a Bikerumor fan, we received these spy shots of enduro team rider Robin Wallner unloading what appears to be a new Ibis long travel 29er. Whether it becomes something of a long travel Ripley, or a big-wheeled Mojo remains to be seen. We’ve reached out to Ibis and they say something new is coming very soon, but wouldn’t divulge details. Fortunately, these photos do reveal some features.

Top down, it does appear to have a linkage driven shock yoke, but from the side we see that the shock’s front mounting point is on the downtube. While the Mojo 3 and Mojo HD4 have a similar placement, this bike loses the secondary support tube found on those models. The design allows for a full size bottle cage inside the front triangle, too. As one would expect, the top tube looks stretched out and is paired with a short stem.

Wheel size is clearly a 29er. This bike is equipped with a Fox 36 fork, which suggests long travel, as does the appearance. Given that the current Ripley has 130mm front and 120mm rear travel, we’re guessing this one probably adds 20-30mm to those numbers to make it a proper enduro race bike. The Fox 36 maxes out at 160mm in 29er form, so we don’t suspect they’ll go any bigger than that.

Stay tuned for full launch coverage, which we suspect will come sooner than later…

UPDATED: It’s the new Ibis Ripmo 29er, check it out now!

The Fox 36 29er fork goes to 170mm. Not 160mm as you say. FYI.

Heard that it’s called the Ripmo. Under embargo, probably ends soon with EWS season kicking off.

Yeah, either Ripmo or Ripjo. Also, other possible names were Morip or Joley or Moley or Jorip. I kinda like Morip.

That’s not a contrived “spy” photo at all.

If it was a real spy photo, it wouldn’t be on here. BR wants to remain in business.
