What if you actually have your dream job, but that “what if” kept meeting you around every new corner? That’s what The Col Collective founder Mike Cotty kept facing while working full time at Cannondale, a job he loved. But ride after ride, he just couldn’t shake this feeling that he should be doing more. So he quit. Or, more precisely, he made himself invaluable to them and showed them in no uncertain terms exactly how his efforts were helping their bottom line. So they hired him as a contractor, and that gave him the freedom and opportunities to turn his fledgling YouTube channel into a real business.

In Part One of our interview, we talk about how he did it and how you can position yourself to start a side hustle and eventually exit without giving up the security of a paycheck. Coming in Part Two, we explore how he actually produces those beautiful videos! Enjoy!
