As a shop mechanic, you can usually tell when a bike spends large portions of its life on a trainer. If the patina of sweat doesn’t give it away first, the high probability of corroded bars under the tape will. For these exact reasons, Muc-Off has an all new Indoor Training Series of products for your “pain cave”.
Currently just two products, both seem like great additions to your cleaning/protecting arsenal. You can start that protection with Sweat Protect which is a spray to use before you start training. The spray includes anti-corrosion additives and inhibitors to protect all components of your bike including the frame and paint. While the spray is clear, it does include a UV tracer dye so you can see where it’s been applied with a UV light. Once applied, it’s said to offer 12 months of protection.
The other product is an Antibacterial Equipement Cleaner which is an all purpose cleaner for everything in your home gym. It’s safe to use on aluminum, stainless steel, plastic, and vinyl which makes it sound like a good option for cleaning your floor mats and trainers after intense Zwift sessions. Both will be available in October just in time for hours on the trainer.
To go along with their Dirt Invaders themed booth, Muc-Off has an entire new line of e-bike related products – though some will be useful for all bikes, not just e-bikes.
That’s especially true of the disc brake covers which double as protective covers while traveling, or over spray protection when cleaning. Sold in a set of two, the neoprene covers will fit any size rotors and velcro closed around the rotor and caliper to keep them clean and protected.
Dry Wash Cleaner and Dry Chain Cleaner are exactly as they sound – ways to wash your bike and clean your chain without needing to rinse with water. Just spray on and wipe off, no need to rinse which makes them safer for use around electronics.
Once it’s clean, the “Ultra Corrosion Defence” is a spray on product to help keep your e-bike rust and corrosion free. Safe for use on the frame, battery terminals, metal parts, plastics, and paint, the spray leaves an anti corrosive layer to drive out moisture.
Then there are three new chain lubes which have been specifically formulated to help with the higher torque associated with e-bike drivetrains. Available in formulas for wet weather, dry weather, or spray on all weather, the lubes all include Muc-Off’s UV tracer dye to help with application.
And of course that’s not all – Muc-Off also has a new women’s specific chamois cream. Claiming to be Ph balanced, and more suitable for sensitive skin, the cream uses natrual fragrances and is antibacterial.
Finally, to go along with their new tubeless tire sealant that includes their UV detection system to find any slow leaks, Muc-Off now has a range of tubeless valves for MTB and Road. The 6061 aluminum valves have removable cores, are available in 8 colors, and come in 44mm and 60mm lengths.
