Riding in the rain sucks. Well, at least you think it does until you actually get out there. As long as you have the right gear, it can actually be a ton of fun – and before you know it, you’re giggling like a child splashing about in a mud puddle.

Even if there wasn’t an interesting new product involved, you would definitely still want to see Danny MacAskill’s latest film. Much like having fun on your bike in the rain, it’s nearly impossible to watch without cracking a smile.

If you live in a climate where riding in the rain is a necessity, then the new Endura MT500 rain suit looks pretty interesting. The fully waterproof suit is made from ExoShell60 which is a three layer, fully seam sealed fabric with water repellent Vislon zippers. The suit is one piece, but it’s only connected at the back. Up front, the pants have their own two snap waist with a zippered fly and a separate jacket hem over top which allows the suit to adapt to different bodies.

If you prefer shorts instead of full pants, the lower legs zipp off to help cool you down. They’re also designed to make it easy to take the suit on and off while keeping your shoes on.

Up top, a 3D Foldable hood deploys for when the conditions are really nasty, and the shoulders feature silicone printing to help keep your bag straps in place.

Large under arm zippered vents allow for ventilation, but if you need more, the zippered front pockets also double as vents. Plenty of pockets are built in, including the arm pocket which is a perfect place to stash a lift pass.

The ultimate waterproof onesie, also includes a pretty ultimate price at $549, but then again you are buying waterproof pants and a jacket in one. And if you live somewhere that it rains all the time, this could be a very worthwhile investment.

It’s just a shame that like all of Endura’s expensive kit, it will be waterproof for all of ten minutes. It confuses me how a company can get it’s low and mid tier clothing so fantastic, but fail completely at the high end.

Funny you should say that, it is so true. I’ve got a cheap Endura jersey that I’ve used for commuting and it’s almost as good as new after 4 years, yet I’ve had 2 pairs of FS260 shorts fall apart within 6 months.

Was looking to buy the Endura PRO SL PRIMALOFT® JACKET. Any feedback on that item would be greatly appreciated.

Might be interesting for bike-packing, no tent or bag required just lie down on some moss and dirt all good. Unless of course its a sweat box which would be horrible after a days ride.
