In 2018, iSSi put their spin on the flat pedal with the Stomp. A massive, concave, aluminum flat pedal with big pins and big traction. This year, they’re following it up with the Thump, a composite flat pedal with a similar truly concave shape.
Using similarly styled body, the Thump has a nylon composite body that rides on chromoly spindles and sealed cartridge bearings & nylon bushings. The body measures 18.5mm thick with a 2.5mm concavity.
Offered in two platform sizes, the Standard measures 119 x 99 x 18.5mm, while the Small measures 113 x 95 x 18.5mm. Claimed weights are 330g for the standard and 324g for the small. iSSi recommends size 42 and larger feet for the standard, and size 42 and smaller for the small.
As usual, the pedals will be offered in a variety of colors with black, red, blue, and pink to start, followed by purple and yellow this Spring. Both versions sell for $40 a set.
