It’s time for the latest edition of eeBrakes from Cane Creek. They’ve gotten into the habit of releasing small batches of limited edition colorways – which is easier to do when you assemble the products in house.
Clad in platinum and Pewter, the appropriately named El Platino looks like a classy edition to any rim brake equipped road bike. Available in Direct Mount or Standard Center Mount, the brakes are compatible with 19-28mm wide rims and are machined from high grade aluminum with titanium and stainless steel hardware. These are the second Limited Edition offering in the G4 fourth generation family which include a stiffer black arch spring, improved one-piece center adjuster, and ghosted graphics. These will run $680 for a set, and orders must be placed by April 19th, with delivery in May.
For something a bit less expensive, check out the new Cane Creek Road Cache – a water resistant accessory pouch designed to carry the essentials and fit in your jersey pocket. Made from black neoprene with water resistant zippers, the 90 x 130 x 35mm pouch has room for a 700 x 25mm tube, tire levers, and a co2 inflator. This is definitely one of those ‘less is more’ scenarios and it’s designed so that you can quickly throw it in your pocket as you head out for each ride knowing you’ll always have what you need.
