Following the naming scheme of their cranks, the alloy Turbine family now includes a new set of wheels for those seeking cross-country weights with trail bike toughness. The new Race Face Turbine SL wheels combine a 25mm wide (internal) rim with their quick-to-engage Vault hubs for an affordable set of wheels ready for all day epics.

The welded 6069 alloy rims get a tubeless profile and come with tubeless tape and valve stems, plus five extra spokes. Complete wheels are built using a 3x 28-spoke lacing pattern, same front and rear, and all spokes are the same length throughout. The hubs provide a quick 3º response thanks to oversized internals clicking away with three of the six pawls at any given second, ratcheting through 120 points of engagement.

They come with 15×110 and 12×148 thru axle end caps, with other tool-free options available separately. Claimed weight is 1,635g, only available in 29er versions. Retail is $850, available now. Want to step up to carbon? Check out the Next SL wheelset that dropped last October…we have a review of those coming soon.
