Photos submitted by Alex Kio, “We rode from High Springs, Florida, with our bikes loaded with uninflated pool rafts and paddles, let in at Rum Island, out at Ginnie Springs, and back to High Springs. 50% of the roads we took were unpaved, and one was a river. We’re calling it ‘Riffrafting’. So. Much. Fun.”

Water roads > gravel roads > paved roads.

This is a serious question.
Are alligators a concern in an inflatable boat?

They’re around, but not much of a concern. At some point you weigh your disdain for FL heat against your fear of gators, and usually the disdain for heat is stronger. 🙂 These N. Florida rivers are all fed by numerous freshwater springs that are crystal-clear and gator-free. When you want to get out of the boat and cool off, you head for one of those.
