Ready to hit the road (or trail)? Then grab some gear, load up, and set out for adventure – this round up of bags could be a good place to start if you’re looking for a new way to pack.
Apparel manufacturer PEdAL ED has launched a full line of bikepacking bags. They include the Odyssey Cluster seat bag, Internode frame bag, Node gas tank bag, and the Tendril bar bag. Each is made with 100% polypropylene and gets a water-resistant coating to protect against at least 10,000 mm (rainproof and waterproof under light pressure).
PEdAL ED: Odyssey Cluster & Internode
The Cluster saddle bag comes in one size and features a roll-top closure. It attaches with 2 velcro straps around the seat post along with 2 buckles around the seat rails. The Cluster (€165) comes in red and has reflective details.
Their Internode is a cropped frame bag that mounts with adjustable velcro straps on the top tube, down tube, and seat tube. The straps can be moved across the bag for an ideal fit or replacements. Also, the front of the bag has extra padding to prevent frame damage, and there’s an auxiliary hole for battery cables or a hydration bladder tube. Its compartment is accessed through a zipper that runs along the side of the €125 bag.
PEdAL ED: Odyssey Tendril & Node
Their Trendil bar bag offers rolling closures on either side and adjustable straps to carry large items such as tents and sleeping pads. Rubber spacers between the bar and the bag allow the bike’s cables to move freely without adjustments. The €138 bar bag is available in red and a universal fit.
Capping off the top tube is their Node bag which has a zipper on top with a large loop for onehanded access to items and a mesh pocket that wraps around the front of the bag for additional storage space. Adjustable velcro straps wrap around the top tube and stem/seatpost for a secure fit. Plus, the €75 bag has a non-slip coating on the bottom to prevent sway along with reflective details.
Restrap now offers device protection
The latest packing accessories from Restrap are their laptop and tablet sleeves. Both are designed to protect your devices while touring in their pannier system. The $40 Laptop Sleeve (left) fits up to a 13inch Macbook Pro and has clips that connect to the ridged side of their large pannier to protect it during any accidents or from rattling. It also has a divider to organize accessories such as chargers and cables. The $20 Tablet Sleeve (right) can also clip into their pannier bags for added protection. It’s sized to fit any tablet 210mm x 270mm.

The Evoc Mission pack is a 22L pack and measures in at 42x25x15cm. The smaller pack of the 2 has a large top opening that offers a laptop sleeve and an open compartment design. The front pocket also has organizers for pens, memory cards, business cards, and small items. And its lack of detachable belts gives it a more casual look. The $100 Misson pack is available in black, blue, red, and loam colors.
Speed Sleev takes a front seat to packing out
The latest packing option from Speed Sleev is their Diego bar bag. The Diego gets a waterproof nylon shell to keep everything dry and a zipper opening for easy access. Both bags attach with adjustable velcro straps and offer 4 gear loops. The large bag ($55) offers 157in³ storage volume and a mounted size of 8x5x5in. The small option ($40) is available in black, white, orange, green, and red. And offers 76in³ storage volume and a mounted size of 8×3.5×3.5in.
South African brand BLS is now offering the VeloRacing Full Face bag. It’s designed for downhill, enduro, and BMX riders alike with protective storage for a full face helmet, goggles, shoes, bottles, kit, gloves, guards, and room for extras like nutrition. There are numerous internal storage pockets to keep gear organized, along with a shoulder strap and handles for different carrying options. The $255 bag is hand made in Cape Town, South Africa with water-resistant materials and YKK zippers on either side.
