Little rippers rejoice; the 2020 Norco Sight Youth finally sees the light of day to get your mini shredders pushing their riding to the limit. Norco already have a significant collection of mountain bikes for children, including a 120mm travel Norco Fluid FS. Now they’re stepping it up a gear with the all-new progressive-looking 150/140mm travel Norco Sight Youth – a one size only, full aluminum children’s full suspension MTB for the next generation of shredders.
2020 Norco Sight Youth children’s full suspension MTB
The Norco Sight Youth rolls up on 27.5″ wheels, with 150mm travel upfront and 140mm of rear wheel travel serviced by a Rockshox Deluxe R Select Debonair 2 shock. A slack 63.5° head angle coupled with a short 37mm fork offset gives the Sight Youth a lengthy trail measurement of 137mm, providing lots of stability for your teenage shredder when their travelling at speed.
The 76.7° seat angle is a little steeper than average to help the rider stay over the center of the bike while seated in the pedalling position, helping them climb efficiently. Standover height is 650mm, and reach is 385mm with a 40mm stem as standard. The suspension kinematic of the Sight Youth has been optimised for smaller riders with a much lighter damper tune on the rear shock.
Other youth-specific spec considerations for this children’s full suspension MTB include a light-action 120mm JD TransX dropper seatpost, which should be easily compressed by riders who weigh less than 90 pounds (40kg), and 165mm crank arms. Grips, pedals and saddle have also been downsized for the smaller rider with SDG’s Jr range of componentry.
The Sight Youth has an 11-50T cassette driven by SRAM’s entry-level option Eagle SX drivetrain to help your little one spin up the steepest climbs without breaking the bank. The Sight Youth has tyre clearance for up to 2.6″ wide tyres, and the frame should fit up to a 650ml water bottle.
Pricing & Availability
We think Norco have hit a pretty decent price point with their second stab at a children’s full suspension MTB. The also-new adult-sized Norco Sight and Norco Sight Youth are both available now from your local Norco dealer.
