Not sure what to do with all those knobs and dials on a modern suspension fork? Or just want something that’s custom tuned for you, your bike, and your local trails? The new MRP Ready to Shred option gives you just that, delivering a new mountain bike suspension fork that’s dialed and ready to ride, right out of the box. Here’s how it works:

In addition to the internal tuning and travel length adjustments, they also pre-cut the steerer tube and install the crown race. So, literally, all you should have to do is pull the fork out of the box, install it and your brakes, bar/stem and wheel, then hit the trail.

This means you won’t need any specialty tools to get a clean tube cut or star nut installation. Or risk damaging your crown race by hammering it into place with a flat head (c’mon, you know you’ve done this).

do any mountain bike fork brands offer custom tuning

Their forks already include plenty of “customizable” options, letting you choose the:

  • travel length
  • fork offset (2-3 offset options per model)
  • levered or bolt-on stealth thru axle
  • decal color

As for the actually internal tuning based on your choices, they lean on years of setting up demo bikes at events to set air pressure, low speed compression and rebound damping for you. At the very least, this gets you to a good starting point from which you can make adjustments to fine tune them.

And the best part? The tuning service, with parts and including a brake rotor adapter as needed, is just $39.95. (Choose the fork first and add on the Ready to Shred package and it’ll be applied at no charge for the first month after this announcement). Check out the program page here.
