It looks like Hydro Flask is gearing up for another addition to their Cold Flow family in the spring. Recently, the Bend, OR based company announced the new Down Shift Hydration Hip Pack. While images are still just limited to product renderings, we do know a good amount about the hip packs which should arrive in time for this coming Spring.

Like the impressive Down Shift 14 hydration pack, the new Down Shift 5L hydration Hip Pack will use their Cold Flow insulation system. In this case, that consists of a 1.5L IsoBound insulated reservoir from HydraPak with their Plug-N-Play quick disconnect hose that stores inside of an insulated reservoir pocket with a reflective lining. That should be good for cold water for up to 3 hours. Not enough water for your next outing? The pack looks like it will have dual stretch bottle pockets sized to fit 12-24oz standard and wide mouth water bottles.

The pack will offer 3.5L of additional storage with dual zippered hip belt pockets, a soft lined media/sunglass pocket, and internal organization for various small items. The pack should also have external straps for extra gear that tuck away when not in use, and reflective hits with a bike light attachment strap.

Pricing and availability isn’t public at this time, but we do know that it will be offered in two colors. The Hip Pack looks like it will join the 14L Hydration pack as the only other option in the line, which will be offered in a third color as well.
