It’s wasn’t that long ago that dropper posts topped out at 185mm of travel. That was actually in 2017 when BikeYoke launched the REVIVE 185. At the time, that was the longest travel (standard) dropper post available – though it was eventually eclipsed by the competition. Well, the German company is at it again with the new REVIVE 2.0. Not only have they once again taken the long travel dropper post crown, but they’ve also updated all lengths of the REVIVE 2.0 to make them perform better regardless of length.
When it comes to the claim of the longest dropper post, that is a constantly changing target with some caveats. Technically, the dropper post with the longest travel is likely the Eightpins NGS 2 which comes in at a staggering 258mm travel for the XXL version. However, it requires a specific frame which can utilize the integrated design. So in terms of a standard dropper post that you can use in any frame (as long as you’re tall enough), the new REVIVE 2.0 seems to take that title with a 213mm travel version, just edging out the Vecnum Nivo at 212mm, and the OneUp V2 at 210mm.
The REVIVE 2.0 will be offered in 30.9 and 31.6mm diameters, though a 34.9mm post will still be offered as the REVIVE MAX. Don’t have the inseam of an NBA player? That’s OK, the REVIVE 2.0 will be offered in shorter 125, 160, and 185mm travel versions as well.
All of the REVIVE droppers see improvements in construction with details like a new one piece upper tube unit that is 3D forged and then post machined. Previously, the post used a two piece bonded construction, and the new one piece design allows for a stiffer and stronger post head with variable wall thickness. The 213mm travel post also gets increased bushing overlap to handle the increased leverage of the huge post.
Down below, the actuator lever also gets CNC machined post forging to offer a smoother feel to the action.
Also, the pin slots are now hard anodized for better resistance against corrosion.
Finally, you’ll find longer saddle clamp bolts with integrated conical washers and a revised upper saddle clamp rail to make saddle installation easier.
All posts retain the REVIVE function which lets you reset the hydraulics inside the post with the simple twist of a lever. BikeYoke also points out that all of the new components are backwards compatible – and if your post needs service, you can send it in for their Update Service Program. Essentially, a regularly paid service will get you upgraded to the REVIVE 2.0 parts without upcharge.
Priced between $320 and $380, the REVIVE 2.0 will be available mid August.
Triggy Alpha
Along with the REVIVE 2.0, BikeYoke is introducing the Triggy Alpha dropper post remote. The new remote has a bunch of features that make it stand out, making it the perfect companion for the REVIVE 2.0.

New Nicolai?
Apparently that Nicolai in the feature image that is big enough to take the 213mm REVIVE 2.0 might also be new itself. BikeYoke tells us that there may be “more to hear and see about this particular bike, soon…”
