Rapha Pro Team Winter is coming. Cold, dark & wet riding weather is going to take over much of the northern hemisphere soon – even EU clocks roll back this weekend – but Rapha is prepared. Their race-inspired Pro Team Winter collection has plenty to keep riders toasty, with all-new Jackets, men’s Bib Shorts, women’s Tights, Knee & Leg Warmers, and even a new Winter Hat & updated Gloves to add to the full range developed with their EF Education First & Canyon//SRAM professional team riders.

Staying motivated to ride year round really is a lot about having the right clothes for the weather conditions. Often that means a bunch of expensive riding kit, and Rapha Pro Team Winter is certainly no exception there. But, while the £180 / $250 / 215€ isn’t cheap, it does look like a versatile option for training or even racing in cool to cold weather.

The Pro Team Winter Jacket mixes rain & wind protection up front with more breathability in the back, so cold weather doesn’t chill you to the bone and you don’t end up soaked in sweat at the top of every climb.

The insulated jacket features weatherproof fabric on the front of the chest, shoulders & sleeves, then a wicking fleece-lined fabric for the remainder to allow excess heat & moisture to escape. Rapha says its close Pro Team fit is meant to be worn with either just a baselayer, or a jersey & baselayer for colder weather.

The jacket includes a small zip chest pocket (men-only), standard 3 rear pockets, plus a fuzzy close fit at the neck, and reflective details front, back & for the armband.

The men’s version comes in two-tone green, purple, or black (with green available in a few weeks) – the women’s in purple or black only.

Pro Team Winter Bib Shorts for men only

Carrying on the Rapha Pro Team Winter training collection, a new set of insulated winter bibs for men get new 3-layer windproof and water-resistant fabric over the top/front of your legs, plus a longer cut for improved coverage or overlap to warmers. The rear of the legs & butt use a breathable fleece-lined fabric for insulation that still lets excess heat out.

Available in green, navy blue, or black with mesh upper bibs straps, reflective details, and the standard Pro Team chamois pad, the men’s Winter bibs sell for £195 / $270 / 230€.

Pro Team Winter Knee & Leg Warmers

Men get new winter bibs, but not new winter tights (although those were updated last year anyway). So there’s a new set of knee & leg warmers to keep you toasty. Both use the same 3-layer windproof & water-resistant fabric in front and fleece-lined fabric out back to match the performance and comfort of the shorts. The warmers use standard strong Pro Team top grippers, and get reflective Pro Team bars for visibility.

Available in either navy blue or black, the new Pro Team Winter Knee Warmers sell for £55 / $75 / 65€, and the Leg Warmers for £60 / $80 / 70€ per pair.

Women’s Pro Team Winter Tights

While the men get new shorts that they can combine with warmers, women’s get an all-new set of proper full winter tights. Their key new feature is the new magnetic rear clasp introduced last year on Pro Team shorts, to make it easier for mid-ride nature breaks, especially when you are layered up for cold weather.

The new winter tights also feature the same size-specific women’s Pro team chamois, fleece-lined insulated fabric, and reflective details. The Women’s Pro Team Winter Tights sell for £210 / $285 / 250€ and come in black-only.

All-new Pro Team Winter Hat

An all-new Winter hat should keep everyone’s head warm this winter. The £45 / $65 /55€ hat is thin, breathable and water-resistant, designed to fit close over your ears and against your face under a helmet. Available in dark green or black with reflective detailing, it has a small cycling cap-style brim to keep rain off your glasses.

Updated Pro Team Gloves

Not intended for deep winter riding, but rather high intensity training & racing in cool to cold weather, the long-running Pro Team Gloves get another iterative update. They generally keep the same thin flexible DWR-coated soft shell concept, but get several new details. The new design now features a ribbed elastic cuff for better sealing against the arm, a simplified one-piece unpadded suede palm, plus additional panels around the sides of the fingers & tips for better fit, and touchscreen conductive thumb & index finger tips.
