From the beginning designed to be the ultimate lightweight and efficient climber’s road bike, the BH Ultralight EVO Disc gets an integration overhaul for 2021, while shedding grams at the same time. The new carbon bike drops 40g, while moving to integrated seat post clamping and completely hidden, fully internal cable routing.

Introduced with disc brakes and wide tire clearance already back in 2016, the Ultralight EVO Disc was an early adopter of much of the details that have come to define modern light road bikes – albeit without any real focus on aero dynamics. The profile of new Ultralight EVO is then mostly unchanged except for the disappearance of exposed cables and the elimination of the traditional seatpost band clamp.
The new look is sleek and well-integrated, offering some incremental aero gains too, on a bike still prioritizing lightweight & stiffness above all else.
Tech details
The new completely internal cable routing goes through the oversized FSA ACR 1.5″ headset, offering compatibility with both mechanical & electronic shift groupsets – although all complete bikes feature AXS or Di2.
A new wedge-style clamp now secures the 27.2mm round seatpost, tightened from the top of the toptube, and resulting in a smoother-looking seat cluster.
Even the Ultralight EVO’s axles get integrated, using BH’s hidden Quick Lever retractable thru-axle levers for a cleaner setup and easy-access wheel removal.
Now just 750g (M), the new BH Ultralight EVO Disc shares the same hi-mod Toray T1100G carbon & pitch fiber reinforced construction as its predecessor, using BH’s HCIM hollow core tech. The bike features a BB386 EVO bottom bracket, flat mount disc brakes, and clearance for 30mm wide tires.
Road racing geometry is unchanged, available in four sloping sizes (XS-L) with short 402mm chainstays and a quick-handling 72.5-73° head angle.
2021 BH Ultralight EVO Disc – Pricing & Availability
Four complete bike builds are available of the Ultralight, yet only three are really new. The top-spec 12,000€ Ultralight EVO Disc 9.5 gets kitted out with a full SRAM Red eTap AXS drivetrain with Red AXS cranks (not shown), a Vision Metron 5D ACR cockpit, and Zipp 454 carbon wheels.
The 9000€ Ultralight EVO Disc 9.0 knocks 1/4 off the price tag, still getting a premium Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 build, FSA K-Force carbon cranks, Vision Metron 5D ACR bar+stem, and Vision SC55 carbon wheels.
The 6300€ Ultralight EVO Disc 8.5 starts to get a bit more in reach, with Ultegra Di2, FSA SLK carbon cranks, one-piece BH house brand EVO Monocoque carbon bar & stem combo with ACR routing, and EVO 38 Disc V3 carbon wheels.
A 5500€ Ultralight EVO Disc 8.0 does not get the newly integrated frameset, instead carrying over the old model with an Ultegra Di2 & alloy finishing kit to add a more affordable option to the updated Ultralight family.
The new 9.5, 9.0 & 8.5 are offered in five color options. Plus, they can be customized both in paint & spec through the BH Unique online configuration tool.
The new bikes can be pre-ordered now through your local BH dealer, with availability expected starting the last week of 2020 or into the spring of 2021 depending on model & size.
