The new Shimano IC1 indoor cycling shoe was born for spin classes and rental programs, but brings a high end, supportive construction worthy of your own torture chamber.
It has a synthetic mesh upper so it’ll dry super quick…and breathe well, which is important when there’s no airflow. Vents on the outsole help move air in and out of the bottom, too.
It uses a single strap that crosses the foot twice, helping enhance the adjustable arch support. Choose between two different arch inserts to fully customize the fit. They say the upper has a soft, sock-like fit, relying on the strap and a heel cup to provide structure.
They use a mixed last size design, with smaller sizes using a narrower last, and larger sizes getting a wider one. It’s a more unisex design in lieu of doing separate men’s and women’s designs.
Adding to the versatility are two- and three-bolt cleat mounts. Retail is $90, available now online and in stores.
