Just over a year ago, Yuba launched the Kombi – a compact, entry level cargo bike. Not surprisingly, since that launch Yuba has gotten a ton of requests for an e-bike version of the Kombi. As a result, the Kombi E5 just powered up and is ready to haul your cargo with ease.
Calling it a compact cargo bike, the steel frame of the Kombi E5 features a built-in heavy duty rear rack that is capable of hauling up to 440lbs of total payload. Built around the Shimano STEPS E5000 mid-drive motor and a 418Wh battery on the downtube, the bike will provide assist up to 20mph.
Rolling on 24″ wheels and 24 x 2.5″ Maxxis Hookworm tires, the bike comes in a single size with an adjustable stem which claims to fit riders from 5′ to 6’5″. The stock bike includes LED front and rear lights, the deflopilator for steering stability, a heavy duty dual kickstand, flat pedals, and fenders and rear wheel skirt for $3,200.
Depending on your needs, the Kombi E5 is compatible with a wide range of accessories to carry anything from kids to groceries.
