And the LOOK X-Track Carbon XC pedals do both, which is why we reviewed them so highly! Now, you can win your own pair (worth $130 each!!!) just for answering a few questions.

When it comes to the X-Track family of pedals, LOOK says they’ve chosen to concentrate on the interaction of three major factors that make a superior pedal:

  • Contact surface area
  • Weight
  • Entry/release

With a wide platform that provides generous support and stability while optimizing power transfer and comfort, combined with a competitive weight, the X-Track family of pedals could be the perfect off-road pedal. And now you can find out for yourself!

Just answer this quick 4-question survey below to enter to WIN one of THREE pairs of X-Track Race Carbon Pedals! All multiple-choice questions and email fields require an answer to enter the contest.

Just yesterday, quite seriously a buddy of mine broke that exact same pedal mid-ride and it was then unusable. We had a set of egg beaters we put on the bike in a pinch (had the wrong size shoes, but easier than swapping cleats). One of the pieces of plastic broke off from the pedal body, not sure how, easy XC ride…cant say I have ever had that with my pedals (XTR).

The bottom line most pedals are SPD or SPD look alike. it is time Shimano turn in to sealed bearings.
Egg beaters are nice idea to give weight weenies satisfaction with semi reliable solution.
Time MTB nice light weight approach (the two sided father of Egg beaters) cleats are quite low profile but life span is not great.
