Steve Peat has added a new drivetrain lubricant to his line of bicycle maintenance products. Joining the Peaty’s Dry Link Lube and All-Weather Link Lube is the all-new Link Lube Wet. Link the rest of the range, it is environmentally friendly, with a readily biodegradable formula said to keep your drivetrain running smooth in the filthiest of conditions.
Peaty’s Link Lube Wet
Peaty’s have spent the last three years developing the all-new Link Lube Wet, designed for long rides in the wettest, filthiest conditions, off the back of their athletes’ requirements. The claim is that this wet lube easily lasts a full day riding in any condition whilst not turning to thick, impossible to clean, gunk which wet lubes are renowned for.
LinkLube Wet is a higher viscosity blend of waxes and oils with a higher concentration of waxes and corrosion inhibitors compared to LinkLube All-Weather. The high wax concentration is said to make the wet lube much quieter and smoother running, whilst also lasting much longer than its All-Weather counterpart, especially on long wet rides. The most peculiar thing about this new lube is that the brand have added an Irish Coffee sent to it!
Peaty’s say testing of the lube was also carried out on ebikes, where chains are under greater torque for longer periods of time. Testing on ebikes also expedited the development process, because of course, you can ride harder for longer with a motor.
To apply, Peaty’s recommend you drip it onto the inside face of your chain, spin your cranks around 15-20 times to allow the LinkLube to soak deep into the nooks and crannies of our chain links, then wipe off the excess.
