Castelli’s spring & summer collections get a couple of key additions geared towards those chill rides with friends that turn out to be a bit more intense. When every group ride is a race, that’s the perfect time to drop the hammer in their new Saturday Morning Skinsuit, fusing their latest Corretto jersey and Espresso 2 bibs.

That Corretto family itself is a fresh, all-new range of jerseys for men and women, reshaping the classic Espresso line for a new season of fast-paced riding. It updates the fabrics & fit of Castelli’s popular Espresso jersey for higher performance and multicolor mix-and-match styling.

Basically, just Castelli’s newly updated Corretto road jersey sewn onto their classic Espresso 2 shorts, you get top-tier performance in a lighter, more comfortable onesie. Sure, skinsuits were once limited to proper racing against the clock. But, as fabrics have gotten better, more stretchy, and more comfortable, there’s a lot to be said for combining jersey and shorts into one. Especially for riding in hot weather, I’ve been surprised at how much more comfortable a onesie skinsuit can be, even on more casual rides.

This combo maximizes breathability and aerodynamics, while maintaining everyday usability. Castelli includes a standard 3+1 rear pocket layout, a fully-openable full-length YKK zip, Progetto X2 Air Seamless chamois pad, and raw cut leg openings. Plus, it weighs just 287g, a significant 61g lighter than the regular jersey + bibshort pairing.

Castelli describes it as “designed for social rides when the pace is anything but social“.

The $330 / 270€ men’s Saturday Morning Skinsuit mates the new Corretto jersey to the Espresso 2 bibshorts – minus the extraneous bib straps – in 3 simple block colorways. Pick from Black with Rosa Giro pink sleeves, Belgian Blue with White sleeves, or a Brilliant Orange vest with grey shorts & sleeves.

Love or hate the idea, it’s 17.5% lighter, more breathable, and 20% cheaper than buying the jersey and bibs separately.

“Rooted in the Venetian ritual of the caffè corretto—”correcting” or “refining” an espresso with a splash of grappa—the Corretto range brings a confident energy with sharper graphics, bolder colors and a more expressive design language to ensure every garment stands out in the crowd.”

Espresso had been Castelli’s go-to, everyday road riding range. But now with rides getting quicker and more intense, they’ve upped their game with some new color-block Corretto jerseys.

The new Corretto jerseys get a tighter, race-like fit with color contrasting fabrics for different functions. Jersey bodies get more open mesh to max out breathability, while their sleeves and pockets get a textured fabric to optimize aerodynamics. Plus, a newly contoured collar improves comfort and a closer fit at your neck.

The Corretto features 3 regular rear pockets plus a zip valuables pocket (3+1), full-length YKK Vislon zipper with an easy-pull tab, elasticized silicone waist gripper, and repositioned logos so your competition can see what you are wearing when you’re riding hard in the drops.

The Corretto comes in both short- and long-sleeve options, men’s and women’s specific cuts, and several color options for each. The short-sleeve Castelli Corretto jersey sells for $200 / 160€, and weighs 124g for men or 118g for women. The long-sleeve Castelli Corretto jersey sells for $210 / 170€, and weighs 140g for men or 134g for women.

One-piece suits are the most comfortable cycling clothing, but the problem with most of them is normally that they are race-focused and compromise on practicality, so it’s great to see that Castelli are now offering this. Unfortunately, they’ve chosen 3 color options that I would never ride in. Don’t they know that when offering limited color options at least one of them should contain the least offensive colors of black, white, and maybe some red? Giving us pink, blue or orange is pathetic.
