E11even have released a new line of carbon and (affordable) alloy gravel wheelsets accommodating tires from 28c right up to 50c. With a reliable, durable, serviceable DT SWISS 370 hubset and 24 spokes front and rear, these new gravel wheels are positioned as reasonably priced upgrades to OEM Spec gravel bikes.

The new line of gravel wheels comprises three options; the Alloy Disc Gravel 25mm, Carbon Disc Gravel 38mm, and Carbon Disc Gravel 50mm, named after their respective rim depths. All are hooked rims laced to a DT SWISS 370 centre-lock hubset, non-boost with 12mm x 142mm and 12mm x 100mm spacing. All three run 24 spokes, front and rear.

On all of E11even’s Carbon and Alloy Gravel Disc wheelsets those spokes are aero bladed. The composite rims have a 20.3mm internal diameter and a 27.5mm outer, allowing them to accommodate high volume tires up to 50c. The hooked carbon rims are tubeless compatible, but will still be a viable option for those still riding tube-type clinchers.

The E11even Carbon Disc Gravel 38mm wheelset with its lower profile rim sacrifices some of the aero properties of the 50mm version but benefits from a lower weight, coming in at 1820g.

Coming in at half the price of the E11even carbon options is the E11even Alloy Disc Gravel 25mm wheelset. If your budget can’t stretch to those lighter, more aerodynamic wheelsets, the Alloy Disc Gravel might be an attractive option, priced at $499.99.

This one features a slightly different hooked rim profile. It is 25mm deep with a 21mm internal width and a 25.5mm external width, accommodating 28c to 50c tires. The pair weigh a claimed 1820g.

Pricing & Availability

I had to do a double take because I was surprised the Alloy 25 and Carbon 38 wheelsets are the same weight. E11even’s website seems to confirm this.

1820 g is a halfway-decent weight for the aluminum wheelset, but seems heavy for carbon. I guess you do pay less for them though

20.6mm internal width is really narrow for gravel tires.
My road rim already has 23mm internal width (30mm external), that fits 28mm tire perfectly.
My gravel rim has 26mm internal width. With 40c tire, I feel like the rim could have been a little wider. 28-30mm internal and about 35-40mm external width would be perfect.

Gas face to the carbon weights and road widths marketed for gravel.
What was that about “upgrage”? LOL!

Nice price point but how are those aero benefits going to work with a 45 mm gravel tyre bulging out of a 20.3 internal rim?
