Measuring sag on an air shock is super easy thanks to the O-ring that sits on the shaft. On a coil shock? Not so easy. Reverse Components set out to change that releasing the Travel and Sag Indicator; a suspension setup tool designed specifically for coil shocks. An external shaft that is mounted parallel to the shock uses an o-ring, just like an air shock, to show exactly how much of the stroke length has been used, whether you simply want to know how many millimetres of sag a particular spring gives you, or you want to know how much travel you used in that last run.

Setting up a coil shock can be a little trickier than an air shock, mainly due to the fact that you’ll likely need to experiment a little with the specific coil, and thus specific spring rate, to find out what’s best for you. The fact that coils shocks have no external indicator for the amount of travel used makes this process more time consuming again, as you’ve no way of knowing exactly how much travel you used in that last run (unless you hit the bottom out bumper).

The Reverse Components Travel and Sag Indicator solves the problem once and for all. An externally mounted telescopic shaft indicates how many millimetres of the stroke you’ve pushed the shock through, so it could be a useful tool for getting things dialled so you can start making use of the superior small bump sensitivity the coil offers earlier.
