Cannondale have updated their commuter eBike line-up with an overhaul of the Cannondale Tesoro Neo X and the Movaro Neo. Both run the newest Bosch Performance Line CX 250 motor, paired with the new 750 Wh PowerTube battery, giving each bike a 20% range boost. Both eBikes are great options for commuters, sure, but the Tesoro Neo X gets some additional features that render it more off-road capable for trekking and exploration. Here’s a quick overview of the two.

Cannondale Movaro Neo

The Cannondale Movaro Neo is a commuter eBike, very much aimed at urban riding on paved roads. It is definitely more of a comfort commuter than a racy one, with geometry that promotes an upright riding position. For 2022, Cannondale have added a standard double-triangle frame to the previously available step-thru frame.

It gets the updated HeadShock suspension fork that uses their new Quad Cage needle bearing system to deliver 50mm of supple, friction-free travel. The more expensive Neo 1 and Neo 2 models also get some squish in the rear, delivered by a Parallelogram Suspension Seatpost.

All models of the Movaro Neo come with 2-piston brakes, with 160mm and 180mm rotors, but that HeadShock fork is approved for use with larger 203mm rotors for improved braking characteristics. Some models of the Movaro Neo get a rear-facing Garmin Radar that alerts the rider to vehicles approaching from behind.

For 2022, the Movaro Neo is upgraded to the latest Bosch Performance Line CX 250 motor, with the new 750 Wh battery, driving an Enviolo Continuously Variable Transmission hub via a Gates Belt Drive. This comes together to create an extremely low maintenance drivetrain, ideal for the busy urban dweller that needs a fuss-free reliable ebike to go about their business on.

Cannondale Tesoro Neo X

The 2022 Cannondale Tesoro Neo X gets a more sporty riding position, as compared to the Movaro Neo, with a 100mm travel SR Suntour XCR fork for improved comfort when riding unpaved paths. For 2022, Cannondale have added a super low step-thru frame option, in addition to the previously available step-thru and standard double-triangle framesets.

The Cannondale Tesoro Neo X gets knobbly 2.1″ Maxxis Pace tires for the occasional off-road stints

Integrated daytime running lights (find out why, here), an Intellimount stem that holds your phone, a rear rack with a 25kg weight limit, fenders, kickstand, and Abus 4650X frame lock, all come together to create a very commuter friendly eBike.

Unlike the Movaro Neo, the Tesoro Neo X gets a traditional drivetrain with derailleur shifting through a 10 speed Shimano Deore Cassette

Such cool bikes! I’d take mine with Black and Red. Similar to Harriton high school’s colors. The rubber chain is a nice touch. I do approve and love the design! So yeah that’s pretty much it. On that note I am very impressed with the designs and as an advid cyclist, I bet it would benefit those who want to ride bikes. Kids teenagers adults alike.
