Last year, while attending the MADE Show in Portland, Oregon, Neuhaus Metalworks debuted its NOVA32 Custom, its new 32″ wheeled mountain bike. Since then, the bikes have been sold on a custom basis with the brand selling around 20 bikes since August. Today, Neuhaus is ready to run its first batch of NOVA32 production frames. That’s right, the frames have already been produced and are available for purchase right now.

The NOVA32 is a steel hardtail mountain bike designed for cross-country riding and built in their Novato, California workshop. The bike features a rigid carbon fork and accommodates 32-inch wheels with tire clearance for 2.2 to 2.4″.

Each frame is built with quad butted, heat-treated chromoly tubing with optimized but lengths and size-specific tube sizes. While the NOVA32 Custom seems like it will stay in the lineup, the NOVA32 production frame uses more standard frame components (no 3D printed parts, etc.) to offer a more affordable price and off-the-rack availability.

NOVA32 Geometry

The NOVA32 uses progressive XC geometry that’s built around a rigid fork suspension. It rocks short 450mm chainstays across all sizes, a 67-degree head tube angle, and a 75-degree seat tube angle.
The bike fits riders from 5’8″ to 6’5″ across three size options: ML, L, and XL. Technical features include Boost 148×12 rear axle spacing, threaded BSA 73mm bottom bracket, tapered headtube, and sliding UDH-compatible dropouts for wheel positioning adjustments.
“The NOVA32 features progressive XC geometry designed around a rigid fork. Short as possible chainstays, a tall stack, and designed around a 50-60mm stem. This makes the bike nimble and fast.”
How to Get Your Hands on One

The NOVA32 has been produced in a limited run with just 10 frames per size. Those framesets are shipping now. Neuhaus is also offering the bike as a rolling chassis package which will include the frameset, alloy wheels, and Maxxis 32×2.4 Aspen tires. These packages will take a little longer to ship, expected by the end of March. There will also be complete bikes built with a Shimano XT group that will also ship at the end of March.

Here ya go, 32″ wheels are here! Well, kind of. You should be able to get most of the parts at this point, but there still aren’t a lot of options. But at least at the end of March, it appears that you will be able to buy a complete bike from a few different companies.
