Yeah, you read that right: A FIXED GEAR bicycle ride across the United States. Oh, and he’s diabetic. Sound like fun? It’s a promotional event for Adventures For The Cure, a nonprofit devoted to curing diabetes.
Equally as important, though, is showing children with Diabetes that it’s not a death sentence…they want to show what can be done as a diabetic, and they want to share healthy lifestyle guidance to minimize the limitations many people perceive diabetics may have. One of my friends is diabetic and still hammers the mountain bike, so I’ve seen it first hand.
The DVD is available for $18 and proceeds benefit their cause.
