Thanks to the proliferation of the 1x, small chainring manufacturers have seen a rebirth. But for companies like Aribike, they don’t just make single chain rings. Replacing your double rings with another set of dual rings may not be as popular as switching out the ring on your 1x, but for racers or those looking for the perfect gearing it’s an important thing to consider.
Like most of the rest of the industry though, evolving BCD ‘standards’ are a moving target. In order to remain current, Aribike is continually putting out new designs like they have for Shimano Dura Ace R9100 and Ultegra R8000. Not only do the rings match the proprietary four bolt 110mm BCD, but they have the massive notch necessary to clear the fat crank arms.
Available for Dura Ace R9100 or Ultegra R8000, the rings are ordered as a kit with your choice of tooth count for both the small (33-42t) and large (40-58t) chainrings. You also have the choice of round (€130) or oval (€140), and the usual choice of anodizing color from Ari. Oval rings have the additional choice of of Strong for a more durable training ring, or Race for a lighter competition build. Finally, the option for 10 speed or 11 speed specification would allow you to upgrade the crank while keeping your current drivetrain. Aribike also makes single rings that will fit if you want to ditch the double completely.
