Bicycle Design Blog’s Commuter Bike Design Contest has announced its finalists, with the folding full suspension concept shown above being the most eye catching of the bunch.
Penned by Rick Marland, this bike’s central feature is a circular lock that serves as the structural element when the bike is extended out to riding mode.  When it’s folded down, it pulls out to lock to posts, signs, racks, whatever.  The bike uses hydraulic discs with internal cable routing, solid (ie. puncture proof) tires and front and rear suspension.  There are some other sweet designs among the finalists, which you can see here.
