There’s no denying the surge in cycling’s popularity in Great Britain thanks to Bradley Wiggin’s Tour de France win this year, and having the Olympics there with cycling specific routes available for visitors doesn’t hurt. Expanding on that and his own love of cycling, artist Ugo Gattoni has put together a massive city scape of absurdly impressive detail.
The intricate scene shows cyclists of all walks of life, from hipsters to kids to mountain bikers to pro racers, all taking to London’s streets for a city-wide race…all with a bit of an Olympic theme. The artwork will be presented in a book called Bicycle from NoBrow as part of their Leporello series.
Retail for the oversized, fold-out tome is $25, which won’t hit shelves until September but it’s available for pre-order now on Amazon for $20.59. Check out a great interview with the artist on It’s Nice That, and peep some detail shots of the art behind the break…
