I just got my light on Monday. It rocks!! Super light weight and wraps around my whole frame. I rode on Monday night and got all kinds of “Sweet bike!” comments, not to mention the cars swerving way out of my way when approaching. For $25 this thing is a screamingly sweet new safety light.

I’d been thinking about getting a Down Low Glow until I spotted these things on EBay a few days ago. I can get 4 of these for less than the price of one DLG.

I’m in the laser business, so I have to know a little about how light works than the average bear. If you’re looking for maximum visibility rather than fashion, you’ll be the most visible (to other humans) with a yellow or green light with all other factors (i.e. power) constant. Those two colors are right in the sweet spot of our perceived visual spectrum (around 555nM).

I ordered mine last week after reading an article in my local newpaper. It arrived promptly and was easy to put on. At first I was put off by the large roll of tape in the package but after trying it I understood why it is a perfect solution. The tape doesn’t stick to the frame but holds the power unit in place.

When I left my bike in a dodgy neighborhood I took off the transformer and brought it with me in my backpack…makes the glow wire part not worth taking…..then, after I got back it was a simple minutes work to re-tape the transformer to the bike…

My favorite thing was the flicker mode which flashed so that cars could see me good.

Overall I was happy with the product…if anything I’d suggest a smaller role of tape…

I just ordered mine for the San Jose Bike Clubs “Light Your Bike” night. I am so excited and can’t wait to get them and ride. I ordered Purple to match my beautiful Yellow Beach Cruiser. From what I have been told, it is not the brightest colr, but I am sure I will be seen!
