Photo submitted by Eric Goodwin, “William Lynch, MD, is the final rider to approach the Capitol Building in Washington, DC on September 21, 2010, after a 67-day cross-country relay named the Alzheimer’s Breakthrough Ride. The ride began on July 17 in San Francisco and covered 4,600 miles. Using this ride as a sparkplug, the Alzheimer’s Association collected over 100,000 petition signatures in support of making Alzheimer’s Disease a national priority. On January 4, 2011, President Obama signed into law the National Alzheimer’s Project Act (NAPA), which creates a national strategy for dealing with the disease.”
