Photo submitted by Shawn Evans, “Riding the Blue Ridge Parkway this time of year is really nice, since so much is closed to car traffic. I snapped these photos over the weekend on my way up to Mt Mitchell. There were small patches of snow starting about 15 miles North of Asheville, NC. This was taken at the Craggy Gardens Visitor Center, which is about 25 miles north. It was a little too slippery to make it all the way to Mt. Mitchell…but coming this far up on a set of slicks sure was fun. I also have a short video clip if you’re interested in viewing.”
