@Ernst At home I ride a 32 ring with an E13 top only guide, and a 11-36 cassette. For this trip, however, I used a 11-42T (wolf tooth giant cog) cassette, and a narrow-wide 32T ring with no chainguide. After numerous chain drops I put the guide back on and don’t plan on taking it back off. You?
