Photo submitted by DJ Cox, “I just came back from trail riding out in the North Cascades of Washington solo. The weather has held out longer than usual before getting snowy and I had a great chance to go see the golden larch out in the mountains before the snow came. I got in a bunch of different rides including the Angels’ Staircase loop and then I rode up and camped out on top of Cutthroat Pass where it intersects the Pacific Crest Trail later that night. It was gorgeous. Then I got to bomb down it after sunrise. The two pictures are from where I slept on Cutthroat Pass.”

We always love to see your photos and would like to show them to the world here on the Pic Of The Day. Send in your photo with a brief description here.

Beautiful pix! Angel’s Staircase Loop is one of the best rides in the PNW. The yellow larch trees around Cooney Lakes are amazing. I’ve gotta get back!

We were there this weekend and hit the first snow storm of the season at Cooney Lake.
Too nasty to do the Angel’s staircase, but as a consolation Foggy Dew is one of the best descents around!

DJ forgot to wear his Air Attack on this ride, which is strange. Paulpalf, interesting being in the same area with the same people in the same timeframe! Foggy dew was AWESOME ride and the view from the top of Cutthroat was amazing!
