State Bicycle Co. (SBC) and the Corona brewery have teamed up to release a unique capsule collection for the dog days of summer. The line includes a co-branded Klunker (sort of a BMX/cruiser Frankenstein job), a handlebar bag, jerseys, and shorts.
According to Corona and SBC, the unlikely pairing is a celebration of the brands’ shared “vibes.” What vibes, you ask? Relaxed, recreation-centric ones.
It’s not all fun and games, though. The partnership also aims to highlight the importance of recreating responsibly. Subtext: don’t drink and drive, folks.
We’ll happily raise a glass to that.
Here’s what we can tell you about the brand-spanking-new capsule collection.
State Bicycle Co. & Corona Klunker bicycle
One of SBC’s most iconic models, the retro-style Klunker, is a glorious mutt of a bike. Part beach cruiser, mountain bike, and BMX, the Klunker should turn plenty of heads from neighborhood jaunts to languid beach rides. SBC says the Klunker is capable as can be; we’d bet the BMX bars make it light-years easier to push up hills than the standard cruiser setup.
The SBC & Corona Klunker ($420 MSRP, my dude) includes a classic steel frame, coaster brakes, BMX “V” handlebars, MTB tires, and flat platform pedals.
SBC used 100% recycled post-consumer waste to make the limited edition Corona jerseys and bibs. The choice aligns with SBC’s broader Sustainable Clothing initiative, which features REPREVE polyester sourced from single-use water bottles.
Skeptical of the result? SBC seeks to dispel doubts, promising “performance and quality have not been spared in the name of sustainability.” The Corona kit looks similar in fit and finish to SBC’s previous NASA Collection. Key touches like a hem gripper on the jersey and “performance cut” bib shorts are still on board. Bonus: as will all SBC clothing, each product comes with a limited one-year warranty.
The capsule includes two styles of jersey, a relaxed-fit Tech-T Jersey ($60 MSRP), which features side ventilation and one rear zipper pocket, and the performance-cut Cycling Jersey ($70 MSRP), with the cinched hem and three rear pockets.
The fade-resistant Cycling Bib ($80 MSRP) rounds out the kit.
Finally, the brands deliver a waterproof, 600D polyester Handlebar Bag ($40 MSRP). For the cost of a couple of pitchers, you’ll get 1.7 liters of storage, zippered main and side pockets, and a universal fit.
All items in the limited-edition State Bicycle Co. & Corona capsule collection are available now. Learn more about it and place an order at SBC.
