Dinolfo Cycles has just released their first hardtail mountain bike. Like their gravel frame, the Dinolfo Hardtail is hand-fabricated from custom-butted 4130 steel tubing at their HQ in Wiesbaden, Germany. The brand decided to keep things classic and simple, opting to run all the common standards allowing the bike’s unique geometry to do all the talking.
Dinolfo Hardtail Mountain Bike
There’s very little to know about the Dinolfo Hardtail, and that’s just how the brand wanted it; fast, functional and fuss-free. The frameset sees all the regular mountain bike standards, if such a thing exists; boost 148mm rear end spacing, a 44mm headtube, 180mm post mount brake and a 73mm threaded BSA bottom bracket.
The Dinolfo’s geometry is optimised around 29″ wheels and a 612mm axle-to-crown fork, or 140mm travel; the one picture here is a custom-made 140mm travel inverted fork from Intend. They do tell us the frame geometry can also work well with fork travel anywhere between 130mm and 150mm, however.
A 447mm rear-center length on the large frame gives the Dinolfo clearance for a 29″ x 2.5″ wide tire out back. Almost equally balanced front-to-rear, reach comes in a tad longer at 450mm. The head angle sits at 65° paired with a 74° seat tube angle. Though they make not look too dissimilar, the Dinolfo’s geometry is a little more conservative as compared to that of the mixed-wheel Starling Roost Hardtail we wrote about earlier this week.
Pricing & Availability
The Dinolfo Hardtail is sold as a frame only, available now direct from Dinolfo for 2590.00 € including VAT and shipping. Lead time on a frame is currently 5 weeks. Dinolfo currently only ship within Germany but will expand to other European countries mid 2022.
