Just as the Bobcat is an adaptable predator covering terrain from Canada down to Mexico, Vredestein’s new Bobcat all-round, all-conditions tire aims to attack anything it rolls across.
Likewise, it covers all three wheel sizes, from 26″ to 27.5″ to 29er, all in a 2.35 widths and with tube and tubeless ready versions. They use a 120tpi casing and respectable weights considering the intended usage. Prowl for details below…
Strong, rectangular shoulder knobs should hold up to aggressive cornering.
While it’s touted as “all conditions”, it does favor rocky, rough and wetter conditions. Weights, by wheel size are 710g/740g/790g for tube type and 765g/795g/850g for tubeless ready.
For road, the new Fortezza Senso All Weather tire marries their TriComp casing tech with a new all conditions rubber compound. They say it’s equally grippy in wet and dry conditions and has low rolling resistance. It also uses their Curve Control System, which is a layering of rubber compounds that let the cornering sections (colored) wear at the same rate as the center of the tire even though most of your time is spent in the middle. That maintains predictable cornering as the tire rolls to the side in a turn since it shouldn’t flatten out over time.
It comes in a variety of colors, including gum wall, and weights are 225g (700×23) and 240g (700×25). They also have a tubeless ready version at 265g, which adds up to quite a bit of overall weight savings even with sealant, and they say it has the lowest rolling resistance.
