AbsoluteBlack’s oval chainring collection continue to grow with new options for Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 and Ultegra R8000, plus direct mount oval rings for Easton EC90SL carbon cranks. The Shimano-compatible rings will come in 34, 36 and 38 tooth small ring sizes (31-41 grams each), and 50 and 52 tooth large rings (120-137g). Prices will range from $/€54-105 depending on size.

The bolt covers, which tie it all together aesthetically but aren’t functionally required, will set you back another $/€47 for the set. Both the chainrings and covers will be available in silver or black.

For fans of the feathery light Easton EC90 SL cranks and oval chainrings, you’re in luck. AB’s new options include 36t (89g). 38t (94g), 40t (104g), 42t (111g), 44t (112g), 46t (123g), and 48t (125g). Prices range from $/€76-89. Worth mentioning that the direct-mount interface on the Easton cranks is the same as Race Face, using their CINCH system, so these rings should work just as well on either, assuming chainline works out.

Other new oval chainring options include a 36t Boost direct-mount option for SRAM and Race Face cranks.

Not new, their Top Caps come in a variety of colors, weigh just 4g and have a very clean, recessed look that tidies up any cockpit. Retail is $/€16.50.

That chain catcher design is pretty slick, Not a fan of the K-Edge one because you cant adjust it once the derailleur is tightened up to the braze on.

The chain catcher is 100% copy of the ROTOR pro catcher!
After copying the rings, now ever the chain catcher… lol…

I do have the absolute black top cap and it is not possible to get proper preload. But it does not matter because it broke the second time I used it.

I wonder if the chainrings can be flipped over (probably not). Their oval axis is way off and flipping it would put it almost right.
