INTERBIKE 2009 – Ergon went green beyond their packaging and grip colors.  Their new BioKork grips are the result of their new GreenLab project.  They use sustainably harvested cork from Portugal to make up 40% of the grip’s mass.  Besides damping vibration extremely well, cork has natural antibacterial qualities and is hypoallergenic.  The “gel” insert is made with vegetable oil (as opposed to mineral oil) and the inner core is plastic that’s reinforced with natural fibers.  The aluminum end clamp is fully recyclable, too.  They’re part of Ergon’s Performance Comfort series and will retail for $29.95.
Ergon also had a new version of their GX3 Race grips on display…hit ‘more’ to see it…
The GX3, which is Ergon’s longest integrated bar-end model, gets a redesigned, sleeker bar end.  MSRP is $69.95.
