Esker Cycles announced yesterday that they have added their first sponsored athlete – ultra-endurance champion, Alexandera Houchin. Known for her accomplishments on a singlespeed mountain bike, Houchin has accomplished multiple Colorado Trail, Tour Divide, and Arizona Trail victories and records. Alexandera hails from Cloquet, Minnesota, and is setting her sights on “besting some of her own records and a few new challenges this season”.
Alexandria’s Bike of Choice
Alexandera’s steed of choice for the upcoming season is the Eskar Japhy Ti hardtail.
She’s built it using components from her other partners, and it has a clean aesthetic. Eskar has big plans for Houchin and plans for her to have a vital role in Eskar’s R&D and bikepacking product development.

As I have been racing competitively as a singlespeed mountain biker, I’ve been increasingly curious as to what possibilities exist if I ride a full-suspension bike or maybe even a bike with gears. I am curious as to what bikepacking looks like if we can extend more invitations to riders of diverse socioeconomic brackets in an ethical way.
