Danish cycling clothing maker Pas Normal Studios partnered up with Italian shoe, saddle & gear maker Fizik to create a minimalist limited edition version of their popular Ferox Carbon gravel racing shoe. Apparently a first step in ongoing collaboration, Pas Normal tease more Fizik Collabs. This first project sees Fizik’s Ferox Carbon gravel shoe get a simplified, mostly one-color off-white look, topped off with a simple Pas Normal Studios logotype to match the rest of your PNS kit…
Pas Normal Studios x Fizik Ferox Carbon ltd. ed. gravel shoes
The “minimalist take on fizik’s gravel-specific Ferox Carbon shoe” is the latest effort of Pas Normal to toe the soft goods line between fabric fashion design and more tech-focused performance cycling gear. Of course these race gravel shoes combine a textile upper with a stiff carbon structure construction that’s a bit out of Pas Normal’s wheelhouse. So they stick to the aesthetic side for now, with a nautically-inspired off-white & navy blue. And let Fizik deliver on the performance.
Tech details
Tech-wise, the Pas Normal Studios x Fizik gravel shoes are the exact same as the stock Vento Ferox Carbon. That includes a durable woven mesh laminated upper, a single Li2 Boa dial closure, and a Powerstrap velcro midfoot strap. The sole is Fizik’s X1 Carbon outsole with a 10/10 stiffness rating and molded on rubber tread lugs. Weight is a claimed 297g per shoe. My standard edition Ferox Carbon size 43 pair weigh an actual 662g, 34g more per shoe than claimed.
Pas Normal x Fizik Ferox Carbon shoes – Pricing & Availability
The Pas Normal Studios x Fizik Ferox Carbon is available globally now, but in limited numbers. The limited edition off-white shoes retail for $335 / £290 / 330€. That then includes a pair of white socks and a musette to carry them in. The shoes are available now direct from either Fizik or Pas Normal. Shop from either to see if you can find your size.
No word yet of what will come next from the Pas Normal Studios x Fizik collaboration, but we’d bet on limited edition road shoes too since road is really the heart of PNS. Then, probably limited edition collaboration saddles. Maybe we’ll even see some interesting matching bartape to finish off you PNS x Fizik-equipped bikes?
