Foes has “brought the work station into the 21st century”.  Marketed mainly to bike shops, you can own one of these if you’ve got $995 to spare ($1665 if you want the dually version with two clamps).  Expensive, yes.  But, look at what you get:
- CNC aluminum clamps
- Fully adjustable rise/fall and 360° clamp rotation
- Powder-Coated / Black-Oxide coated steel main structure to resist chemicals/environment
- Adjustable regulator for clamping pressure
- Easy foot-pedal control for grasp / release of bike
- Makes any other workstand look pathetic
It works with any compressor, and you can hook air pumps, blowers and other air-driven devices to the auxiliary air ports.  Besides being just plain cool, the foot pedal actuation lets you use both hands to put the bike in the stand.  Seems obvious, right?  But I know you’re like me…trying to hold the bike just right with one hand while clamping it with your poor, inferior, manual work stand. The Foes rep assured me that the clamp pressure is fully controllable, and works to secure any bike of any frame material without damaging (read: crushing) it.  Just set the pressure you want, then the clamps will close down until they’re holding it secure and keep it there without overdoing it.  It’s designed to bolt onto a Park Bike Stand Plate or directly into a concrete floor.
There is an optional “Race Base” available for $165 that makes the unit portable…which is why you want this work stand…so you can show up at the race, set this bad boy up and completely demoralize the poor schlubs with regular work stands.
