Dia Compe is one of the less sexy brands out there, usually the maker of the stock parts on entry level bikes that aren’t going to make or break your decision to buy it. But, they have several divisions that do make some pretty nice looking stuff.

These DiaTech “Goldfinger” mini brake levers are tucked away in their BMX parts category, but are listed for use with curved bars, specifically for singlespeeds. In fact, their clamp is OS 31.8mm, meaning they’ll mount up nicely with modern handlebars and snuggle up close to the stem, so you can cut your bar as narrow as you like, you silly hipster.

They’re also available in silver and have various color options for the clamp. Make the jump to see the silver model and all the specs, then pretend like you don’t care…

  • Clamp31.8mm
  • Single speed Bike use
  • Forged aluminum bracket (Anodized; powder white or pink)
  • Forged aluminum lever handle (Anodized)
  • Double bent lever handle for Dirt Jump
  • Hinged clamp
  • Usable on curve position (short handle bar)
  • 260 g/pair

Of course, they still won’t get quite as close to the stem as this one.

This brake lever has been around for years…I am surprised someone brought it up now.
