Given Mongoose’s deep history in BMX, you can bet they’ll always have a dirt jumper in their MTB lineup! The Fireball is an aluminum hardtail built to shred dirt jumps, pumptracks and slopestyle courses.
Mongoose already offers three complete models of the Fireball, but here’s today’s news: The Fireball frame is now available separately, and is now offered in two new colors – orange and cyan (in addition to chrome). Since many BMX and dirt jump bikes are part-by-part builds, Mongoose wants to start riders off with a solid-looking frame for a decent price.
The newly available Fireball frame gives consumers a chance to own the exact same frame ridden by Mongoose’s MTB pro riders Greg Watts and Braydon Barrett-Hay. Made from 6061 aluminum, the Fireball comes in one size only, which is recommended for riders over 5’3”.
The Fireball frame fits 26” wheels, and has a tapered head tube with bolt-on gyro tabs. Out back it features forged horizontal 10mm dropouts with 135mm axle spacing. The frame accepts 27.2mm seat posts, and includes a chain guide mount.
Mongoose lists the Fireball frame weight at 4.5 lbs.
The Fireball offers modern dirt jumper geometry, with a top tube length of 23”, 415mm chainstays, and a 69° head tube angle.
The Fireball frame retails for $299.99.
