Contests

  • Enter to win a part of Harry’s Hoard while supporting a cycling family – So this kind of contest is something we’d probably share in any case on this Friday format. But Jonas Johnson was the friendly bike nerd and 12-year product specialist over at Chris King that worked with much of the industry to build crazy custom bikes. Having succumbed to a rare degenerative bone marrow disease this summer, the industry chipped in a bunch of custom kit to raffle off and raise money for his young family. At the top of the pile is this sweet Santa Cruz 5010, but there’s plenty more from Oakley, Moots, Fox & more. Find out how to buy raffle tickets at: HarrysHoard.com

  • Glory Gears champs starts Nov 1, with a big Cash Purse & more prizes – We covered the Glory Gears cycling strategy board game based off the film Breaking Away when it was a Kickstarter. Then a month ago we saw that the game was getting a real-world Colorado championship competition across 24 individual bike shop events offering nights of play with tons of prizes on offer. Well, Colorado players just got even more to win with a $7000 cash purse being added on as well as the winner’s Colnago road bike. Lots more info can be found over at: MindMeltGames.com

  • Find the SmartHalo in the Apple Store now – We covered the SmartHalo when it went through crowdfunding almost two years ago. It’s on the market now, and the Montreal-based startup behind the $150 smart/connected navigation & track device just shared with us that they secured a deal to sell it both through Apple.com and at all of the Apple retail stores in the USA & Canada. That’s a bit of a coup for a little colorful round handlebar device that we spotted when it was just a twinkle in its Kickstarter’s eye. SmartHalo.bike
