FrostBike 2013: Surly's John Deere Inspired MoonLander, FB Special Ops Pugsley LTD?

Every time I walked into the Surly booth, I never saw this bike, but I did see it in picture form on a laptop that was always running in the booth. The photo above was gleaned from the internets and clearly shows some skinwall (gumwall?) Nate fatbike tires (anyone remember the skinwall Endos?) mounted to some pretty rad, polished rims – can’t tell if they’re rolling Darryls or Marge lites. The color, and the build are indicative of the FB Special Ops Pugsley LTD, which from checking various Surly dealers Facebook walls, apparently only 300 will be made. Judging by the picture we saw, this should be here sometime around Dec. 2013.

Surly also had an awesome one off, John Deere inspired Moonlander – check it after the break.

New Pugsley and Moonlander colors?

Nothing runs like a… Moonlander.

Surly being, well surly, had instructions for purchase written beneath the green and yellow monster.

Cool, I’ve got gumwalls on my old Takara Highlander hanging in the garage.

Anyone else notice that the pugsley doesn’t have a front brake installed on it?

Can I get is such an ugly Americanism, I’ve been told.

those aren’t gumwalls, it’s just a stock Nate tire that has been painted to look like it has gumwalls

@vk I think he was referring to the phrase “Can I get”, not to the bike. Probably opposed to “May I have”

@endurorob This looks like a single-speed setup as well. Some folks just like to run with just a rear brake to keep it stupid simple like a BMX bike or a cruiser.

That red pug with the gummies is thor’s whip. it’s been no secret, they had it on their facebook cover image since the 11th of january. you just had to locate it amongst all the other fat boys. http://www.facebook.com/SurlyBikes

The red one only having a rear brake could be more of a BMX application, for things like this:
