Giro will resurrect the Prolight moniker for its new “world’s lightest” road race bicycle helmet it’s debuting on the skulls of Astana, Garmin-Slipstream and Rabobank riders this Friday.
Back in 1986, Giro used the Prolight name for its first EPS foam helmet, which Greg Lemond rocked for a while.  The new model gets a totally new RocLoc SL fit system that replaces the traditional plastic straps with ultralight elastic webbing, a new injection molded webbing retainer and new padding.  Claimed weight is just 175 grams for the Medium size.
