Sustainable Travel International has released its 4th Annual Green Gear & Gift Guide just in time for the holiday season. It lists not just the brands that use sustainable “ingredients”, but a little about each of the companies.  For instance, this Bike Chain Bowl from Resource Revival…all of the energy used to make their stuff is from renewable sources and the bike parts are recycled.

Outdoor equipment and clothing is also very popular. In 2006, the Outdoor Industry Association reported that US$289 billion was generated annually in outdoor recreation retail sales and services across the U.S. alone.”

- Be produced using resource efficient, recycled, renewable, and or recyclable materials;
- Be offered by distributors that gain fair prices for the local producers of their goods; and or
- Allow consumers to enjoy the world outside in a more eco-friendly manner.
